Description of Role

As a Wordpress Developer at Spencer Group, you will play a vital role in building, maintaining, and optimising high-performing websites across our 6 distinctive business units. Your skills will shape the visual identity and functionality of our digital presence, making a lasting impact on how our industry interacts with our product offerings.

Responsibilities

  1. Work with the marketing team to translate design concepts into engaging and functional websites built on WordPress
  2. Development of custom themes and plugins
  3. Implement regular updates and new features to Wordpress websites
  4. Ensure website responsiveness and a seamless user experience across all devices (desktop, tablet, mobile)
  5. Optimisation of page speed across Wordpress websites
  6. Implement best practices for SEO optimisation to improve website search engine ranking and drive traffic to websites
  7. Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress trends, plugins, and security updates to future-proof websites across the business

Person Specification

  1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  2. Experience in prioritising a heavy workload and the ability to meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy
  3. Ability to focus on key priorities with a results driven approach
  4. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Qualifications and Essential

  1. Proficient in WordPress development, including custom theme and plugin development
  2. Familiarity with PHP programming language
  3. Knowledge of database management systems, such as MySQL
  4. Experience with version control systems such as Git

Desirable

  1. Familiarity of implementing and editing data analysis platforms such as Google Tag Manager/Google Analytics
  2. Previous experience using Moodle
  3. Knowledge of JavaScript

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to £55,000.00 per year
