Job Description

The Leasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing and executing the real estate strategy for a corporation (in-house role) across North America. This role involves managing all aspects of leasing activity, from negotiations to lease administration, while collaborating closely with various teams including Retail Operations, Retail Finance, and external partners. You will play a vital role in developing and executing strategies for new store openings, relocations, and lease renewals.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Lead lease negotiations, documentation, and financial analysis to support store openings, relocations, and renewals
  • Foster strong relationships with key landlords and external brokers
  • Prepare and present real estate deals and financials to senior management for approval
  • Oversee the preparation of market analysis, sales projections, and proforma estimates for new locations
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with retail operations, marketing, and construction
  • Manage day-to-day lease administration and occupancy payments, ensuring timely and accurate documentation
  • Monitor lease expirations, renewals, and other critical milestones within the real estate portfolio
  • Support strategic initiatives such as the "store of the future" and new brand opportunities like pop-up stores
  • Manage external consultants, brokers, and legal teams to ensure efficient lease execution and compliance
  • Ensure the proper handling of security deposits, insurance documentation, and occupancy cost adjustments
  • Provide expertise on store closures and help manage the financial and operational aspects of the process.

The role is a hybrid opportunity with a requirement of 4 days a week in office (non-negotiable).

The Successful Applicant

In return for a competitive remuneration package, the successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years of experience in retail real estate, preferably with a national retailer or broker
  • Strong knowledge of lease negotiations, retail site selection, and lease documentation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with landlords and external partners
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and lease administration software.
  • Ability to work 4 days/week, on-site (non-negotiable).
