Job Description
This is an opportunity to establish yourself as a Maritime Systems Engineer and Project Engineering Lead (PEL). A long-term key role within the UM UK Sonar Business. We are a supplier to the Royal Navy and global allies with a reputation for agility.
This role reports into the Project Manager (and functional Line Manager) and will work closely with the Systems Design Authority and Engineering Manager. As the PEL you will be overseeing the engineering throughout product development across Technology Levels, building upon existing products. You will be responsible for providing engineering leadership, supporting customer meetings and involved in hands-on engineering.
This is a Principal Systems Engineer level position suitable for an experienced engineering leader with demonstrable success of engineering management and team leadership, with an appreciation of mature complex engineering and experience of leading development across the product development lifecycle, ideally in Maritime with:
This is a hybrid role giving you the flexibility to balance working from home and regularly on site at Greenford three days per week, with occasional UK & International travel.
There will be a two-stage interview process. The first will be a video call with the Head of Systems Engineering, and the second will be an on-site interview with the Project Manager and Engineering Manager. The first will explore functional suitability and cover business/strategic fit and the second will focus more on suitability for this project vacancy and project team fit.
