Overview

GRADUATE SURVEYOR (SIT)

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Graduate Surveyor to join our team. This position will assist Professional Surveyors with CAD production, boundary analysis, research, legal description and easement preparation, deliverables review, computations, and adherence to specific state statutes. This position will work under the responsible charge of a Professional Land Surveyor.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Assists Project Surveyors and Project Leads with CAD production, boundary analysis, research, legal description and easement preparation, deliverables review, computations, adherence to specific state statutes, and other survey-related responsibilities.
  2. Works with the Professional Land Surveyor to define project tasks, schedule, and resource requirements.
  3. Works with Professional Land Surveyors to evaluate property boundaries in metes and bounds and public land survey states.
  4. Travels occasionally for courthouse research and field crew support.
  5. Coordinates with field crews and office staff.
  6. Performs self and peer review QA/QC checks.
  7. Stays current on service-specific trends, technology, software, hardware, and equipment.
  8. Ensures division, regional, and company policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey service.
  9. Leads by example – displays solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.
  10. Provides day-to-day guidance and mentoring to project team staff as needed.
  11. Handles multiple priorities and projects well.
  12. Consistently exercises independent judgment and demonstrates critical thinking skills.
Required Experience
  1. Surveyor-in-Training certification.
  2. Minimum two-year Surveying degree required, four-year degree preferred.
  3. Three-plus years of land survey field experience preferred.
  4. Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.
