Pin Point Recruitment are looking for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a manufacturing company based in Kettering.


You will be expected to deliver effective and proactive Engineering support to all areas of the business. Advising and assisting departmental managers on processes and ensuring effective compliance engineering practices that optimise operations and maximise the uptime of plant machinery. In this role you will be involved in effective planning in conjunction with fellow team members to ensure the uptime of business assets, by maintaining equipment through regular PPMs and efficient repairs to ensure continuity of production.


Electrical Maintenance Engineer Job Role:


  1. Be the first line of support for any electrical issues, ensuring that machines are back up and running quickly and safely.
  2. Carry out reactive, ongoing, and planned preventative maintenance (PPM), ensuring all plant property, equipment, and other assets are fit for purpose and comply with group standards and best practices.
  3. Diagnose and repair electrical faults in machinery, control panels, and associated equipment.
  4. Attend breakdowns as necessary, prioritising repairs to ensure production continuity.
  5. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards, actively promoting a safe working environment.
  6. Identify and implement accident prevention measures while ensuring adherence to the PPM schedule.
  7. Work proactively to continuously improve machine availability and effectiveness.
  8. Effectively prioritise repairs when machinery is in planned downtime.
  9. Work closely with existing engineering staff to understand and excel in all three sites’ engineering processes and procedures.
  10. Liaise with third-party engineering companies for the manufacturing of machine parts when necessary.
  11. Learn and work with the Shire System software for updating repair and PPM worksheets and inputting new schedules.
  12. Participate in regular maintenance meetings to review current PPM, repair, and general maintenance work.
  13. Promote and take part in 6S activities within the department.

Required Skill Set for Electrical Maintenance Engineers:


  1. Recognised Electrical Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, ONC, HNC, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering).
  2. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations Certification (Desirable).
  3. Proven experience in an industrial electrical maintenance role within a manufacturing environment.
  4. Experience with fault-finding, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems.
  5. Knowledge of PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.), inverters, and control systems.
  6. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  7. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, including electrical safety standards.
  8. Familiarity with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) systems and best practices.
  9. Work experience in a commercial printing environment with various machinery, including Goss Web and Heidelberg Sheetfed printing presses, large format guillotines, folders, and stitching lines – desirable.
