Job overview

Are you a cloud infrastructure expert looking to make a real difference in healthcare? We’re seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to join the NCA and play a vital role in transforming how we deliver critical services.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing secure, scalable cloud solutions that support our mission of providing exceptional care to millions.

Working across platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, you’ll collaborate with IT and clinical teams to optimise cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. You’ll use automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) to streamline operations, reduce costs, and drive innovation in the way our services are delivered.

Your expertise will be key in managing cloud environments, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing best practices for security and compliance within the NHS framework. You’ll ensure our cloud infrastructure is robust and capable of supporting life-saving applications and systems, all while keeping patient data secure.

If you thrive in fast-paced environments, love problem-solving, and want to contribute to meaningful change in the healthcare sector, this is the opportunity for you. Join the NHS and help us build a future-ready cloud platform that powers better care for all.

This is a hybrid role with an expectation of 2-3 days working on site.

Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud server and platform environments across NHS sites. This includes supporting the deployment of virtual servers, storage systems, databases, middleware components, and other cloud infrastructure components, ensuring alignment with NHS standards and industry best practices.

In addition to providing technical leadership, you will play a key role in implementing advanced security measures to protect cloud server and platform environments and sensitive data. This may involve implementing access controls, encryption technologies, and monitoring systems to mitigate cybersecurity risks and ensure compliance with NHS security policies and regulations.

As a Senior Cloud Server and Platform Engineer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the enhancement and optimization of cloud server and platform infrastructure through participation in projects and initiatives aimed at improving system performance, scalability, and reliability. Your dedication, attention to detail, and commitment to providing high-quality technical support services will be vital in supporting the delivery of healthcare services to patients and staff within the NHS.
