Tameside and Glossop Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is based in Stalybridge, Tameside. We are a multidisciplinary team providing a mental health service to children, young people and their families. The service has well-established links with our partner agencies including Education, Children’s Social Care (CSC) and the Third Sector and as a locality well on the way to being fully aligned to the Thrive approach to delivering mental health services. We are fully committed to supporting our staff in their development with great access to CPD opportunities, a robust clinical and management supervision structure, and access to an in-house training programme covering key areas of clinical practice as part of your induction.

As such we are delighted to be actively seeking to recruit a new clinical psychologist who will be joining our already well established, highly skilled and supportive staff team here in Tameside and Glossop. You will join a well-established team of over 10 clinical psychologists with expertise in a wide range of clinical areas in CAMHS where you will be well supported in your own development.

Role Summary:
We currently very excited to be looking to recruit a 1.0 WTE 8a (or band 7 preceptorship into 8a) Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist into our service.
This is an exciting opportunity to take up a post based within our Core CAMHS service, with some specialist time inputting into our CAMHS Learning Disability and / or Neurodevelopmental Pathways too, and to receive regular, specialist clinical supervision from senior clinical psychologists with expertise across all areas.
As well as those with some post-qualification experience interested in an 8a post, we would also be keen to hear from applicants who would be interested in a preceptorship post starting on a band 7 with a move to 8a after a period of experience and development. This would suit newly or recently qualified clinical psychologists.

What happens after your application has been received?
You will be informed about the progress of your application following shortlisting via email. Only applicants who clearly demonstrate the criteria listed in the person specification will be shortlisted for interview. Interview invites will be sent out via email.
What happens if I am offered the position after interview?
The hiring manager will make contact with you to verbally offer you the position. The hiring manager will then inform Recruitment of the decision and provide relevant paperwork. You will be sent a formal conditional offer via email.
What pre-employment checks will I need to complete?
By conducting pre-employment checks, the recruitment team will verify that you meet the pre-conditions of the role you have been offered. Pre-employment checks will be carried out according to NHS Employment Check Standards. The checks are:
All applicants external to NHS will be required to provide HMRC employment history to cover the most recent three years. This information will used to validate employment history and references as part of pre-employment checks.
If you are offer a position with is and you require sponsorship to support your right to work, we will review your eligibility in line with government guidance. If the role you have been offer is not eligible for sponsorship, and you are not able to evidence your right to work, your conditional offer could be withdrawn.
What happens when pre-employment checks are complete?
Recruitment will liaise with you and the hiring manager to arrange a start date for your new position. You will then be booked on to a Trust Welcome Session and be sent your Pennine Care NHS Terms and Conditions.
