Science Specialist Cover Supervisor - Full-Time Role

Contract: Full-time, starting ASAP until the end of the academic year
Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Specialist Cover Supervisor to join a well-regarded secondary school in Levenshulme. Rated Good by Ofsted, the school is looking for an individual with a strong passion for Science who can support the department and provide classroom supervision in the absence of regular teaching staff. This is an excellent opportunity for Science graduates or those with a strong subject background who are considering a future career in teaching.

As a Science Specialist Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring that students remain engaged and follow the lesson plans set by the teacher. You will manage the classroom environment, promote positive behaviour, and provide assistance where needed to support students in their learning. While you will not be required to plan or mark work, your presence will be key in maintaining a structured and effective learning environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising Science lessons and ensuring students remain on task with the pre-set work.
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies.
• Providing guidance and support to students, helping them to stay engaged with their learning.
• Encouraging enthusiasm for Science and creating a positive learning environment.
• Reporting lesson progress and any incidents to the relevant teaching staff.
• Covering lessons in other subjects when required, ensuring smooth lesson delivery across the school.

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds a degree in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) or a related subject.
• Has a strong passion for Science and education.
• Can confidently manage a classroom and encourage positive student engagement.
• Is adaptable and able to supervise lessons across different year groups and subjects if needed.
• Has experience working with young people (in schools, tutoring, mentoring, or other educational settings), although full training will be provided.
