Job Description

As the School continues to grow, we seek to appoint an enthusiastic Lecturer in Infectious Disease Biology who will develop and deliver high-quality and engaging education, primarily on our undergraduate programmes. There is great potential for career advancement in this Teaching and Scholarship focused role. The successful candidate will join the Biochemistry Department and will integrate into a dynamic academic team, striving to modernise our delivery of educational activities. We are a dedicated and collaborative department that supports personal and professional development.

About You

We seek a dedicated professional with expertise in infectious disease biology and related areas. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to mentoring students and developing educational modules and programmes centred on skills acquisition and employability. They will be confident in engaging with and training students using modern educational approaches. The successful candidate must have appropriate subject knowledge and ability to teach at any level within the area of expertise and across a range of subjects at a more introductory level. They should also have an excellent academic background with a relevant PhD in Microbiology or Infection Science and/or relevant professional qualification and/or equivalent professional experience.
