Contracts Manager

Core Duties:
Cabling schemes across the East of England including design, project management, on and off-site cable installation, building construction, jointing, switchgear installation, bunding, commissioning, decommissioning and demolition.

Project Overview:
3 to 4 million turnover, low value projects, expecting to get to 6 to 10 million in a year or so. Driving growth in the cabling project workstream with major clients.

Responsibilities:

  1. Planning and programming of current and future works
  2. Involvement with Cost Value Reconciliation
  3. Support Design Manager with establishing design programme
  4. Ensure adequate staffing is available to deliver works to programme
  5. Provide input into estimating and tender process
  6. Project managing the works
  7. Setting up the contract management framework

Regular Interactions:
Contracts Director, Project Managers, Client's Engineers, Site Managers.

Key Requirements:
  1. 33kV cabling knowledge (mainly outside a substation), for a significant time
  2. Experience running a team of PM's and Site Managers, with liaison with Clients' Engineers, demonstrating man management skills
  3. Based within the EPN footprint
  4. Degree or NVQ Level 7 or similarly qualified

Essential Qualifications:
Full UK driving licence.

Flexible Working:
Some work can be done at home, but the majority needs to be in the Client or company offices.

Ideal Candidates:
Would suit an Operations Manager, Operations Engineer, Project Manager, M&E Engineer, Project Engineer.
