Job Role: Plant Engineer – Workshop & Mobile

Location: Exeter, Devon

Salary: £33,000-£36,000 / OTE £40,000-£45,000+

Hours: Monday-Friday day shift (45 hours per week) + Overtime @ enhanced rate

Job Type: Full time, Permanent

The Client

Interaction Technical have partnered with a well-established and National plant hire firm to support the growth of their team. Our client, who have been established for over 50 years, have reached a stage of growth where they are looking to onboard skilled plant engineers to join their team. They offer full training and development and are open to onboarding engineers from transferable industries, including the Plant, HGV, Automotive and/or Agricultural industries.

The Responsibilities

  1. Travel to client sites to perform maintenance and repair of plant machinery and equipment.
  2. Diagnose complex technical issues and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  3. Collaborate with clients to understand their specific requirements and provide expert recommendations.
  4. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  5. Offer training and support to clients' staff on machinery operation and maintenance best practices.
  6. Keep detailed records of service activities, parts used, and work completed for accurate reporting.
  7. Communicate effectively with the in-house engineering team to provide feedback and improve product performance.

The Requirements

  1. Previous experience working in the Plant, Automotive, HGV or Agricultural industry (essential)
  2. Previous experience working with hydraulics, alongside mechanical and electrical capabilities (essential)
  3. Experience working on engines would be advantageous
  4. Electrical and/or Mechanical fault finding, repair & service experience
  5. A desire to lead, manage and grow a team of your own
  6. Relevant qualifications NVQ or City and Guilds in mechanical/electrical engineering (advantageous)
  7. Full UK Drivers License
