Are you a qualified Social Worker who is a strong leader with a passion for improving lives through exceptional care?

Croydon Council, Adults Social Care, is seeking to recruit a Team Manager to work and lead our dedicated Adult Early Intervention Support Service (AIESS) Social Work Team, as part of the management group that leads the way in delivering vital first-point-of-contact services to adults in need of support.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee, in partnership with the other Social Work Team Manager, the AIESS Social Work team, providing expert guidance and support to ensure timely and efficient responses to referrals and inquiries.
  2. Ensure that decisions about care eligibility and safeguarding concerns are made in line with the Care Act 2014 and other relevant legislation.
  3. Coordinate assessments, ensuring that individuals receive the right care and advice promptly.
  4. Drive continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery, ensuring best practices are adhered to.
  5. Promote a strengths-based approach to assessments, focusing on early intervention, prevention, and supporting independence.
  6. Ensure that individuals, carers, and families receive clear and accessible information and advice.
  7. Motivate, problem solve, build relationships, and develop the staff you manage.
  8. Collaborate with internal teams, healthcare providers, and external agencies to streamline access to social care services.
  9. Monitor and evaluate the performance of the AIESS social work team using key performance indicators (KPIs) and service user feedback.
  10. Regularly report to senior management on team performance, outcomes, and areas for development.

Qualifications:

You will need knowledge and understanding of social care, housing, and welfare including the legislation around the Care Act. You should hold in-depth knowledge of adult social care legislation and best practices and have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
