Underwriting Assistant

Location: London

Bermuda-headquartered and listed on the New York Stock Exchange (SPNT), we work as ‘One SiriusPoint’ to apply expertise and underwrite risks across our four operational areas - International Insurance, North American Insurance, Global Accident and Health, and Global Reinsurance.

We underwrite from Bermuda, Liege, London, New York, Stockholm, Toronto, and Zurich, and have licenses to write Property & Casualty and Accident & Health insurance and reinsurance globally.

Join Our Team

You will be our Underwriting Assistant in our A&H team. You will work across both operating platforms, the Lloyd’s managing agency and the UK Branch office, to provide data entry and transactional support to the A&H underwriting team and also provide cover to the other teams within London as and when required. You will report to the International Head of A&H.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Recording, processing, and maintenance of all risk information, including endorsements, in the underwriting and document management systems in a timely manner and to agreed standards.
  2. Identifying missing or erroneous information and following up with underwriters.
  3. Setting up files within the document management system for each risk where required and ensuring placing records are complete.
  4. Providing other general technical and administrative support across the business as may be required including credit control, premium income estimates, and managing the Notice of Cancellation process.
  5. Providing support for business planning analysis.
  6. Maintaining submission logs for the A&H portfolio.
  7. Liaising with the technical accounts department regarding processing.
  8. Liaising with the claims team in collating claims reviews and other claim-associated reporting.
  9. Performing all duties in line with the FCA Individual Conduct Rules as documented in the Employee Handbook.
  10. Any other duties as reasonably required.

Your skills and abilities should include:

  1. Educated to A Level standard or equivalent.
  2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  3. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
  4. Good organisational skills, methodical with a good eye for detail.
  5. Strong work ethic with the ability to work under pressure at busy times of the year, particularly around key renewal dates.
  6. General understanding of how the Lloyd’s and London insurance markets work.
  7. Strong numeracy skills.
  8. IT literate with good working knowledge of MS Office.
