THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Head of PMO to lead and scale the PMO function to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of customer projects. You will define and implement the Temenos Implementation methodologies with a specific focus on the project management methodologies, standards, and tools to optimize delivery performance, ensure profitability, and enhance customer satisfaction. This role requires collaboration with regional delivery teams, governance, and finance leaders to drive operational excellence.
This role will pivotally ensure best-in-class project and program management practices, aligning with the Delivery model to drive consistency, efficiency, and financial performance across large-scale projects and initiatives. In your role, you will be responsible for nurturing a project management community of more than 100 people, defining, designing, developing, and delivering Project Management training, and supporting the project managers from lead generation until project delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong project management background and some solid experience in service sales. Deep expertise in large project delivery (ideally in the financial sector) and financial acumen to manage budgets and financial performance without external assistance complete the profile.
OPPORTUNITIES
- Maintain and improve the Temenos Implementation methodologies in collaboration with the other business units’ part of the Delivery organization.
- Maintain and develop autonomously the Temenos Project Management methodology.
- Enforce project management frameworks, standards, and best practices.
- Maintain and enhance the Temenos project management tools (risk management, project estimation and so on) in partnership with the other business units of the Delivery organization and the services contractual templates in collaboration with the legal team.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery efficiency.
- Develop the framework to ensure that Temenos project managers can deliver the contractual commitment whilst achieving the expected financial results, drive customer satisfaction and create opportunities for up-sell and cross-sell.
- Oversee the end-to-end execution of customer projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget while achieving maximum customer satisfaction.
- Establish standardized PMO methodologies, processes, and tools to optimize project execution and risk management.
- Leverage data insights to recommend improvements in project delivery and operational efficiency.
- Provide strategic direction and support to project managers, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and innovation within the PMO function.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project-level risks (e.g., scope creep, delivery delays, resource constraints).
- Establish early warning systems for detecting and addressing project issues.
- Implement escalation protocols to raise critical project risks.
SKILLS
- Proven experience in building and scaling PMO teams and project/program management, preferably within the technology or financial services sector.
- Expertise in leading large-scale projects in the financial sector.
- Strong financial management skills, with the ability to own and run a P&L independently. Familiarity with financial reporting and forecasting tools.
- Proven track record of improving project efficiency and delivery timelines.
- Strong people management skills, including coaching and mentoring.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills. Experience collaborating with senior leadership, sales, and finance teams.
