BBC Studios is the most awarded Production Company and the biggest independent producer in the UK. The Entertainment UK team produces a wide breadth of content including; Morning Live, The One Show, Strictly Come Dancing, Amazing Hotels, Antiques Roadshow, Countryfile, Royal Ceremonial Events coverage and much more.
We are looking for a Studio Output Editor for BBC 1’s flagship daytime show Morning Live. The successful candidate will combine a deep understanding of Morning Live and BBC Studios' editorial values, with a first-class news judgement and a sharp eye for a story. As Output Editor you will understand and develop the show’s characteristics and identity; maintaining the independence and integrity of the output and ensuring that it meets BBC editorial policy standards and can sustain public, legal and media scrutiny.
The successful candidate will have an excellent journalist track record at a senior editorial level, having edited or Series Produced impactful, topical, live programmes. They will have a deep understanding of changing audience habits and the creative ability to make sure every show is unmissable. They will know exactly what matters to our audience and help us to deliver engaging content which is talked about for all the right reasons. The Output Editor takes the lead of the live studio and gallery team each morning and is responsible for overseeing the live show. This is a senior role and requires the successful candidate to have an abundance of live TV output experience, preferably in News. They will report into the Executive Editor of Morning Live and The One Show.

Broadcast every weekday at 0930, Morning Live is an award-winning factual journalism series which covers a mix of content including topical, current affairs, consumer and health advice. The tone ranges from light-hearted to heavy hitting and always aims to reflect the nation's conversation, particularly in the regions. Morning Live exceeds over a million viewers and regularly hits a 30+% share daily. We’re looking for someone full of energy, ideas and motivation, who knows how to promote a robust but creative environment, to continue our growth both on and offscreen. As well as being lots of fun to work with, you will be thoroughly familiar with legal, compliance and editorial guidelines and you will have the confidence and authority to make on-the-spot decisions during the fast-paced live show.
The role will be based in our Manchester studio and the working hours are 5am until 12pm, Monday to Friday, 28TH April - 11th July. Closing date 26th February.
