Business Analyst - Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund

My client is a market leading multi-strategy hedge fund with offices across EMEA, USA, UAE and APAC.

They are looking for a Business Analyst to join their Technology team based in London.

What You'll Do

• Partner with technology teams to enhance existing systems, such as trading platforms, portfolio management tools, and reporting dashboards.
• Participate in sprint planning to prioritise tasks, review progress, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Test and validate new features or enhancements, ensuring they meet business requirements before deployment.
• Act as the first point of contact for production issues reported by traders, portfolio managers, or operations teams.
• Collaborate with technical teams (developers, DevOps, and infrastructure engineers) to investigate and resolve system bugs, data discrepancies, etc.
• Liaise with non-technical stakeholders to provide clear updates and timelines for issue resolution.
• Document recurring issues and work with developers to implement long-term fixes or system enhancements.
• Engage with front-office stakeholders, such as traders and portfolio managers, to gather detailed requirements for new functionality, product types, or trading logic.
• Build light specifications, workflows, and business rules ensuring they address all considerations.
• Continuously prioritise and update the backlog of enhancements based on evolving business needs and market conditions.

What You'll Need

• Strong academic background in STEM or Computer Science discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in a technology focused Business Analyst role for a trading business.
• Strong proficiency in analysis and process management.
• Strong proficiency in project management.
• Solid experience working on platforms for trading, portfolio management and risk.
• Financial markets knowledge across cash and derivative asset classes.
• Technical skills with Python and/or SQL would be highly beneficial.
