Job Description:

Every childhood is worth fighting for. This is our belief. It drives us. And it motivates our Policy and Public Affairs team to drive our position as influential, informed and powerful voice for change. Join us as a Policy and Public Affairs Manager and lead progress that really matters.

We are looking for an exceptional Policy and Public Affairs Manager to help us ensure children in the UK can grow up free from abuse and neglect. This is a key role in a high-performing team. At a crucial time for children, we're looking for an exceptional candidate who can help deliver our ambition to make sure laws and policy frameworks are fit for purpose in preventing and tackling child abuse and neglect.

You'll be passionate about the NSPCC's mission to prevent abuse and ensure children are supported. A skilled policy specialist with a demonstrable track record in driving policy and public affairs change, you'll pride yourself on producing robust policy positions, high quality policy research, and impactful strategies to persuade government, parliamentarians and statutory partners to act.

You'll have strong analytical and persuasive skills, be confident working on often complex subject matter, and have real authority to ensure children are front and centre in public policy debates and decisions. Alongside excellent understanding of public policy relating to child protection, you'll have experience in delivering impactful policy and public affairs work in at least one area of: children's social care; child sexual abuse; young victims and witnesses.

This is a real opportunity to make a difference to children's lives, but we also like to reward our people by offering a great working environment, being part of a friendly and supportive team, and offering stimulating and challenging work, with plenty of development opportunities. We offer a variety of rewards and benefits including: generous annual leave, flexible working, employee benefits and assistance programme, pension and life assurance schemes.

Join us and you'll become part of a team that cares about the work they do and the people they work with. You'll discover opportunities to grow, along with challenges and a shared purpose that'll bring the best out in you. And you'll get to find your own way to make a difference that matters, and that impacts millions of young lives.
