Overview

REPORTS TO: Anti-Human Trafficking Crisis and Intake Specialist
SUPERVISES: None.
STATUS: Non-Exempt.
SCHEDULE: Part-time. Must be available to be on-call for human trafficking emergencies as scheduled.
FUNCTION: This position is responsible for responding to hotline and crisis response requests as a part of a 24 hour emergency on call schedule.

Responsibilities

DUTIES:

  1. Support provision of emergency response and short-term comprehensive care for domestic and LPR victims of sex and labor trafficking identified by law enforcement, as a part of the court programming with juvenile and adult court justice systems, through social service or health providers, and other identified victims.
  2. Serve as an initial point of contact and emergency responder for victim services at The Salvation Army.
  3. Field hotline calls and implement a response.
  4. Provide rotating 24 hour emergency response and comprehensive initial case management/intake.
  5. Assess immediate needs and conduct intakes.
  6. Assist with the coordination with the Child Advocacy Center, law enforcement, Child Welfare, Juvenile Court, Off the Streets, Municipal Court, Probation Services and other systems and organizations to support the victim in leaving the trafficking situation and receiving needed services.
  7. Utilize Salvation Army and other resources to ensure that the victim’s immediate needs are met, including safe temporary housing, clothing, food, medical care and mental health care.
  8. Develop a safety plan and a service plan in coordination with the victim.
  9. Provide limited-time shelter-based/home-based case management to help the client achieve the goals outlined in the service plan.
  10. Maintain accurate and timely case notes.
  11. Complete timely reports.
  12. Participate in other service programming, as needed.
  13. Complete other tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Associate’s Degree in social service field. Some coursework in social work or a related field preferred.
  2. Experience working with victims of human trafficking is preferred. Experience working with victims of other traumatic crimes, such as domestic violence or sexual assault is required.
  3. Successfully obtain and maintain driving privileges per The Salvation Army insurance standards, including maintaining access to a personal vehicle and insurance coverage for transportation needs related to this position. Mileage reimbursement will be utilized where appropriate.
  4. Willingness to uphold and support The Salvation Army’s mission and ministry.
