The opportunity
As Onshore Wind Health & Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for promoting and managing the implementation of EDF Renewables UK & Ireland Zero Harm ambitions across the Onshore Wind end-to-end portfolio, from development to operations and maintenance.
A key focus for the role consists in applying the hierarchy of risk control measures to our onshore wind assets: in development phases through ‘safe by design’ principles, and; during high risk activities such as construction, operations and maintenance; in addition to learning from events.
Working within a matrix organisation, a key aspect of the role is collaboration, in particular with H&S colleagues across the EDF Renewables portfolio including other business unit technologies and the Corporate HSE Team.
If you’re looking to join a company where you can work hard, have fun, and help to create a Net Zero future – then you’re in the right place!
Our passion for embracing new ideas and being open-minded to change helps us continue to grow successfully. We’re committed to helping all of our people thrive during their time with us, recognising and rewarding every person for their hard work and commitment.
Alongside a competitive salary, bonus, and market-leading pension scheme, we offer a company vehicle, range of flexible benefits and employee discounts to help you thrive across all aspects of your life. You can spend your flexible fund on the benefits that matter to you, whether that’s an electric vehicle, private healthcare, additional holiday or one or more of our other benefits.
We’ll offer you the flexibility, freedom and responsibility to make an impact in your role; whether that’s on-site, in the office or hybrid working from home.
We’re committed to championing diversity representation across gender, ethnicity, LGBT+, disability and more. This applies to all our roles, underpinned by our Everyone’s Welcome inclusion programme. We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application, making adjustments as you need.
You will be part of a team of H&S Specialists; the role will be expected to provide Health and Safety (H&S) support, input and advice to all teams throughout the product lifecycle, including concept, development, delivery, operations into decommissioning and deconstruction, with primary focus on supporting business H&S needs. There may be some crossover with Environmental and Quality systems.
A few times per month, you will be visiting onshore wind assets (wind farms, service centres, conception and development, etc.) across the UK and Ireland, promoting a Zero Harm H&S culture while establishing strong professional relationships with colleagues and contract partners out in the field-based businesses. You will be home based with flexibility across all UK & Ireland field and office locations, working flexibly to provide required services and be prepared and willing to respond to business needs and assist in emergency situations.
