Role Description:

• Mastering the Basics: Deliver a high-quality web experience that minimises churn and allows seamless transitions across devices. We prioritise accessibility and excellence in user experience.
• Modernising Navigation and Information Architecture: Simplify and enhance navigation to provide maximum value and foster connections right from the homepage.
• Boosting User Engagement: Activate and maintain engagement across our communication channels, ensuring healthy consumption patterns on the web.
• Enhancing Key Flows: Strengthen critical Facebook flows on the web, capitalising on ergonomic advantages for specific user needs like Marketplace and Meta AI.

Your Role: Front End Software Engineer

• Collaborate closely with product managers and design teams to define feature specifications and craft compelling consumer-facing features using frameworks like React.
• Independently complete large features from start to finish, taking ownership of specific areas of the system.
• Proactively identify and implement necessary changes to improve your assigned codebase and product areas.
• Work with Health & Foundations and infrastructure teams to build a sustainable, high-performance application.
• Drive improvements for your projects, enhancing efficiency and resolving issues that hinder team productivity.
• Develop front-end frameworks that empower other product teams to build faster and with higher quality.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Sufficient years of experience in designing and completing medium to large features independently.
• Expertise in writing reusable, high-performance UI components.
• Experience in architectural design for complex front-end systems.
• A track record of shipping large-scale products to production for millions of users.
• Relevant degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with React is a plus!
• You’ll be joining a collaborative team of talented developers based in London. Interaction will be frequent with other Software Engineers, tech leads, product managers, data engineers, and product designers. Your daily routine will involve coding, collaborating on requirements, and shipping code—focusing on projects that enhance speed and reduce bugs.
