Advanced Resource Managers are looking for a skilled Design Engineer with expertise in designing steel structures and a solid understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes. This role is with a leading Structural Steel Company based in Lancashire, which offers design and fabrication facilities, as well as on-site steel erection services. The company works closely with principal contractors across the UK. As a Design Engineer specialising in steel structures, you will play a vital role in the planning, design, and construction of steel frameworks for infrastructure projects in Preston and surrounding areas.

Key aspects:

1. SolidWorks 3D Modelling: Sheet metal, weldments, assemblies, and drawings.
2. Measuring and Drawing: Prepare parts for laser cutting when required, or problem solving in production.
3. AutoCAD 2D: Intermittent use for reading client information and design drawings.
4. Detailing & Fabrication: Produce detailed fabrication drawings and BOMs.
5. Engineering Calculations: Undertake calculations for simple metal structures, focusing on steel bending, deflection, and pressure retention.

Skills and Experience:

1. Essential: Engineering knowledge with the ability to undertake engineering calculations. Competence in 3D modelling, sheet metal design, weldments, and generating detailed and fabrication drawings.
2. Software: Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar software. Experience with AutoCAD 2D TEDDS.

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelors Degree Hons or equivalent
