Required Skills
- Min Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or Project Management & equivalent degree with suitable industry experience.
- More than 9 years’ experience in Control & Protection system and have strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience in an engineering & project leadership environment.
- Experience in application engineering in one or more fields, from controls engineering, protection, automation, HVDC, and grid connected systems.
- Experience in project execution of HVDC or similar.
- Experience of design and system integration working on complex multi-disciplinary projects.
- Controls & Protection of HV & LV system.
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to identify and manage team organizational risks.
- Proven skills in managing and leading team with strong technical background.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work to deadlines under pressure whilst maintaining the safety, quality, and engineering integrity of the solution.
- Must be flexible with working hours and willing to travel globally.
Job Description
- As a Lead Project Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team that designs, develops, configures, and verifies HVDC Control & Protection System, driving consistent design practices and common global processes for project implementation, providing technical solutions that meet project objectives.
- This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer to expand their project management skills and personal development within an international project organization delivering complex HVDC systems.
- Our Lead Project Engineers are essential to the successful execution of our projects.
- They provide technical leadership to other engineers and customer-facing teams, overseeing each phase of project delivery to ensure valuable systems solutions with excellent operational rigor.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers specializing in control and protection systems, automation systems, HV & LV power systems, and verification & validation, ensuring the overall solution meets customer, contract, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical leadership, advice, and assistance to the overall project team as appropriate, including Tendering, Commissioning, Service, and 3rd parties.
- Support the Project (Engineering) Manager as required and deputize for them when necessary.
- Plan and progress all design engineering-related activities, including testing and commissioning for specific projects.
- Monitor, control, and manage engineering budgets, project documentation, risk management processes, design reviews, and quality & change control systems in accordance with company guidelines.
- Support improvement initiatives and 'cost out' plans in collaboration with teams from other business units.
- Act as the primary technical & project interface with all project stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, NPI, and Product care.
- Ensure all activities are efficiently and cost-effectively executed according to contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Manage and lead the team to successfully execute projects with adherence to the project schedule, cost, and contract.
- Lead and motivate a group of technical people.
- Act as a problem solver and take responsibility for control & protection along with automation of HVDC solutions.
- Engage in day-to-day interaction with different functions and joint problem solving within the core team for efficient collaboration and continuous competency development.

- Capable of leading large multidisciplinary teams.
