Job Title: Vice President of Sales – Defence Sector

Location: UK, with travel

About the Role:
We are seeking a visionary Vice President of Sales to lead the growth of a premier Defence solutions provider specializing in air, land, and sea technologies. In this senior role, you will be responsible for overseeing all sales strategies, driving business development efforts, and leading a high-performing team dedicated to delivering mission-critical solutions to Defence and government clients. This position is ideal for a strategic sales leader with a strong background in Defence, ideally including MOD/Armed Forces/NATO experience, and a deep understanding of the military landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy Leadership: Define and execute comprehensive sales strategies across the air, land, and sea domains, aligning sales goals with company objectives to drive long-term growth in the Defence sector.
  • Market Development: Identify and expand key business opportunities within the Defence and government sectors, leveraging market insights and deep knowledge of Defence technologies to ensure the company's products meet evolving industry demands.
  • Executive Relationship Management: Establish and strengthen relationships with senior government, military, and Defence stakeholders, fostering long-term partnerships and representing the organization as a trusted advisor.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team, fostering a high-performance culture and developing talent to support both individual and organizational growth objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product development, marketing, and operations teams to align sales efforts with broader company goals and ensure successful execution of go-to-market strategies.
  • Revenue & Growth Accountability: Oversee revenue targets, budget management, and performance metrics, providing regular updates to executive leadership on key performance indicators and growth milestones.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Military/Defence Background Advantage: We value candidates with Army, Navy, or RAF experience who possess firsthand knowledge of Defence operations, language, and challenges.
  • Extensive Sales & Business Development Experience: Minimum 10 years in senior sales or business development roles within the Defence, government, or high-tech sectors; experience with MOD/NATO or other Defence agencies is highly advantageous.
  • Strategic and Visionary Leader: Proven track record of developing and executing sales strategies, leading complex sales cycles, and driving revenue growth at scale.
  • Exceptional Communicator and Relationship Builder: Able to engage effectively with senior military and government clients, leveraging insights and tailored messaging to build trust and credibility.
  • Results-Driven and Collaborative: Strong focus on achieving targets while working cross-functionally and contributing to the overall success and growth of the organization.
