Job description

Location: Dunstable distribution centre LU5 4RZ
Hours: 17:00-00:00 45 hours a week working any 5 days out of 7 days. With overtime regularly available.
Salary: from £19.67 per hour rising to a possible £23.92. This is a premium based on hours worked (can be discussed in interview)

A typical day in this role includes:

1. Working collaboratively with a HGV Driver Mate to help deliver our products to stores in a safe, legally compliant and secure way.
2. You will be responsible for checking and ensuring you have the relevant information and tools for accessing stores.
3. Ensuring that all stock being delivered is clean and undamaged; reporting any issues to your Line Manager.
4. When having interactions with store teams or members of the public you are professional and friendly.
5. Working collaboratively with the team to actively reduce shrinkage or theft of stock.
6. Keeping the work area clean and tidy by adopting a “Clean-As-You-Go” discipline.
7. Assisting the Operational Team in all aspects of Health and Safety and reporting all accidents/incidents/near misses immediately to your Line Manager.

1. You are comfortable with some heavy lifting and can maneuver cages of stock.
2. You are motivated by delivering results and can easily work to deadlines.
3. You are good at building strong working relationships.
4. You are self-motivated and can work with minimal supervision.
5. You are honest, reliable and dedicated to your role.
6. You have a good attitude and aptitude with a willingness to learn new skills.

What you'll need:

1. 2 years HGV Driver driving experience.
2. Hold a valid commercial Driving License with the Correct Categories C / C+E.
3. Have a Professional Driving Qualification called the Full Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
4. Hold a Digital Tachograph / Smart Card.
5. No more than 6 points on license.
6. Flexibility in start and finish times to meet the dynamic delivery schedules.
7. Previous experience within a transport or delivery environment (essential).
8. Flexible approach to performing other duties as requested by your Line Manager.
9. Good level of numeracy.
10. Excellent time and attendance record.
11. Good teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work one on one.
12. Always demonstrate and maintain a high level of health and safety awareness around the warehouse, ensuring own safety and the safety of others. Adopting the ASW, H&S Values: Always Safe at work; think smart, think safe.
