An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Community Mental Health Team in South Somerset, Yeovil. We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate HCPC registered Psychologist eager to be part of the exciting transformation of Mental Health Services in Somerset.

Main duties of the job

In this role, you will provide specialist psychological assessments, formulations, and interventions for individuals with complex mental health needs. Your responsibilities will also include conducting comprehensive risk assessments, offering supervision and consultation to colleagues, and contributing to the development and delivery of staff training.

To join us, you must hold HCPC registration as a psychologist, possess a full driving licence, and have access to your own transport with appropriate business insurance.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential
  • Doctoral Clinical or Counselling Psychology qualification (or in final year of training) or equivalent.
  • HCPC practitioner psychologist registration.
Desirable
  • Relevant specialist CPD qualification.
  • Clinical supervision experience
  • Post-qualification training in psychological therapy.
  • Accredited psychological therapist
Experience

Essential
  • Competence in core psychological assessment, formulation and intervention skills.
  • Teaching and training of psychology and other staff.
  • Knowledge of more than one psychological therapy model.
  • Basic competence in neuro-psychological assessment.
  • Knowledge of legislation and its implications for clinical practice.
  • Experience of supporting others in reflective practice including providing clinical supervision.
Desirable
  • Evidence of specialist interest in working with adults with severe and enduring mental health difficulties during training.
  • Clinical audit work in specialist area
