Oliver Carol Recruitment have been engaged by one of the world's leading names in commercial catering equipment to help support with a structural change as they look to embed a new level of management within their production department.

We want to hear from individuals that have a background within manufacturing, that can lead, motivate and encourage a team in order to increase efficiency and productivity. We want someone with strong people management skills, who is excited at the prospect of bringing real change and championing the workforce to deliver fantastic operational performance results. You must have a track record of identifying and nurturing talent and be able to expand on this during our interview.

This role will see you manage the machine shop so experience in metal processing, cutting and welding is highly desirable.

Your office will be the factory floor where you’ll constantly analyse production and gather performance data to prioritise, plan and action process improvements. You will do this by engaging and empowering operatives and giving them the opportunity, power, and voice to report and solve issues in real time. Candidates with experience and qualifications within lean manufacturing are particularly interesting to our client.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Deliver the weekly programme in production to ensure 100% utilisation as a minimum requirement.
  • Conduct Kaizen events when applicable to identify further efficiency gains in production and to drive engagement.
  • Create and sustain a comprehensive training matrix, with systematic training and upskilling programmes that looks to create a flexible and adaptable workforce, whilst identifying risks of unskilled labour against certain product lines.
