Job description

We are looking for a finance professional who serves as the regional point of contact for Partners and senior stakeholders, providing expertise in commercial finance, commercial profitability initiatives, and comprehensive P&L performance analysis. This role collaborates heavily with other Finance teams within Group and other regions, as well as other Corporate Services departments.

A person who actively seeks transformation opportunities and takes ownership of tasks. A supporting business partnering role, interacts with the initiatives driving commercial finance performance.

What You'll Do:

Business Partner Support

  1. Build strong and positive relationships with budget holders and senior managers, providing the necessary assistance and independent professional advice to assist them with the financial aspects of their duties.
  2. Support all areas of the business appropriately so that leaders understand and ‘own’ their numbers and receive analysis that informs and supports effective decision making.
  3. Be the focal point for commercial financial queries, providing advice to stakeholders (Finance and Business).
  4. Apply various tools such as investment appraisal techniques on items such as business cases or new go-to-market offerings to better inform decision making and adopt a partner/challenger role in evaluating business plans and business cases.
  5. Ensure the business receives, reviews and understands non-financial KPIs and challenge the business to optimise.
  6. Drive adoption and usage throughout the business to push the commercial agenda on improvement to profitability. Act as subject matter expert for the business in understanding and getting the best from the tools.

Pricing

  1. Active involvement with the business on: Bid support / RFPs; setting annual rate card / pricing to ensure margins are maintained or improved; challenging the business on take-on activities to meet gross margin thresholds.

Reporting

  1. Act as the interface on reporting between the business and FP&A, translating results into actionable insights.
  2. Work with FP&A to ensure that the production of monthly management accounts are meaningful and that major variances are explained and remedial actions are identified. Ensure that reporting is insightful and supports business decision making and direction setting.
  3. Collaborate regularly with peer groups in weekly Global Commercial Finance meetings to align on and standardize best-in-class reporting aspects.
  4. Support the Commercial Business Partner in submissions into Group Finance: Flash results, Full performance insights, and formal presentations.
  5. Work with FP&A to develop and continuously improve reporting packs as group priorities / structures change.

Planning, budgeting & forecasting

  1. Support the Commercial Finance Business Partner in overseeing the forecasting and budgeting process, including challenging the business on targets and profitability ensuring risks and opportunities are highlighted.
  2. Ensure that Partners are thoroughly briefed on the planning process, empowering them to own their numbers and obtain Partner sign off prior to formal submission (including CEO review).
  3. Provide strategic and long-term financial planning support to the CFBP.
  4. Work with the business on pipeline data to provide insight into risks and opportunities against the forecast/target and drive greater use of pipeline data.
  5. Work with the FP&A to continuously develop improvements in ‘self-service’ budgeting / forecasting and reporting.

Other / ad hoc

  1. Drive financial compliance with existing company financial controls policies – particular focus on the Pricing Policy for take-on and the CAPRM Policy.

Who You Are:

Essential

  1. Strategic mindset with ability to understand business goals beyond the numbers and interpret broader organizational context.
  2. Strong analytical skills, including trend identification and financial forecasting.
  3. Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills, able to challenge and collaborate with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
  4. Clear and concise communicator, adept at conveying financial concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  5. Advanced technical proficiency in:
  6. ERP systems.
  7. Microsoft Suite (particularly Excel modelling).
  8. Financial reporting tools.
  9. Proven ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines while maintaining quality.

Preferred

  1. Microsoft D365 experience.
  2. Tagetik.
