Personal Assistant for Young Lady P/T @ £15.85/hr in Portishead - FTE - £30.9k - Bristol - BS20

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable caregiver to provide support for a 19-year-old autistic woman who has PTSD, emetophobia, PDA, and anxiety. The ideal candidate should be neurodivergent informed, therapeutic in manner, creative, understanding, and flexible. It is essential for the caregiver to be adaptable, have a love of animals, possess a driver's licence, and be able to connect with the whole family. Some of the individual's special interests include music, Marvel, Korean culture, and art, and a shared interest would be very welcome. The applicant must possess a clean driver's licence and would be insured to drive a fully electric automatic car as part of the role.

Responsibilities:
  1. Providing personalised care and support based on the individual's needs
  2. Engaging in therapeutic activities and techniques to assist in coping with various challenges
  3. Creating a safe and nurturing low-demand environment
  4. Assisting with daily living tasks and routines
  5. Transporting the individual as needed
  6. Building a strong rapport with the individual and the family
Desirable Qualities:
  1. Experience or knowledge in working with individuals with autism, PTSD, emetophobia, PDA, and anxiety
  2. Empathetic with an understanding of emotional regulation
  3. Understanding of neurodiversity and various support techniques
  4. Ability to be patient, compassionate, and empathetic
  5. Creativity in developing engaging activities and strategies
  6. Flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing needs
  7. A valid driver's licence with a clean driving record
  8. A love of animals
