Job description

Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston is seeking a Front Desk Representative to join our team. Must be a dependable and motivated team player who is professional, organized, and enjoys working in a fast-paced medical environment. This person would be scheduled to work in our Falmouth office with travel to Sandwich location as needed. Schedule is Monday through Friday; 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  1. The role of a Front Desk Representative is to deliver excellent patient care service by demonstrating enthusiasm and a calm demeanor in a busy office environment.
  2. Must ensure efficient and positive interactions with patients and co-workers.
  3. Works collaboratively as a member of the team to achieve the goal of providing outstanding patient service.
  4. Specific duties include all check-in and check-out functions, ensuring accurate demographic and financial information for each patient encounter, the collection of patient co-payments and past due balances, scheduling, and communicating with patients.
  5. Perform all other related tasks which would facilitate the flow of patients through the practice, or which would enhance the quality of service to patients.
  6. Maintain confidentiality and privacy consistent with HIPAA guidelines.
  7. Other clerical duties as assigned such as Medical Records.

Ideal Candidate:

  1. A High School Degree or GED.
  2. Minimum of 1 year of medical or health care related setting or equivalent in a customer service, front desk/receptionist position.
  3. Must have a working knowledge of computer and respect for confidentiality. OCB is an equal opportunity employer.

  5. Epic experience a plus.
