Job description

A leading food & beverage manufacturer is now seeking an R&D Food Technologist to join the team due to growth.


Working with an established team, the Food Technologist will be responsible for providing key technical support for NPD / innovation and renovation projects of product, packaging and processes. This includes ensuring a high level of technical integrity is maintained regarding product quality, safety and legality.


The successful Food Technologist will ideally be a recent food science / nutrition graduate with experience of working in a food or beverage manufacturing environment in either a quality, food safety, NPD or regulatory role. Full training will be provided and a robust career development plan will be in place.


R&D Food Technologist responsibilities include:
  1. Support project coordination activities and general R&D/ NPD administration
  2. Creation and management of Internal Specifications for Raw Materials, Semi-Finished Products, Packaging and Finished Products
  3. Producing recipe development prototypes for Innovation, Renovation and Value Engineering
  4. Organisation of outgoing development samples for internal and external customers
  5. Coordinating and setting up tasting and bench marking sessions
  6. Provision of Technical Information
  7. Regulatory/technical Artwork checks
  8. Support planning and implementation of Industrial trials
  9. Assists with product registration and approval process for Organic and Fairtrade Certification
