Job description

We are hiring for a Veterinary Receptionist/Patient Care Assistant to join our team at Rowe Veterinary Group!

The role will involve working an average of 40 hours per week to include weekends and some Bank Holidays. On a Monday and Wednesday you will work as a patient care assistant, helping the Veterinary Surgeon and nurse with clinical procedures. On a Tuesday, Thursday and Friday you will work alongside our other dedicated receptionist ensuring our clients receive the best possible customer care.

Your working pattern

1. Monday - 8 hrs (working 10-7PM)
2. Tuesday - 8 hrs (working 8AM-5PM)
3. Wednesday - 8 hrs (working 10-7PM)
4. Thursday - 8 hrs (working 8AM-5PM)
5. Friday - 8 hrs (working 8AM-5PM)
6. Saturday - 4 hrs (1 in 4 weekends at our Wotton practice 9AM-1PM)

Our ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, both face to face and on the phone and proficient knowledge of IT. You will also need to work well under pressure and remain calm in emergencies, as well as having a love of animals.

Your duties will include:

1. Unpacking orders
2. Checking expiration dates
3. Cleaning of the building including laundry
4. Assisting the nursing team with handling patients
5. Greeting our clients and their pets in a professional and courteous manner
6. Dealing with queries both by phone, email and face to face
7. Advising clients on our preventative health care products
8. Taking payments, cashing up and all other general admin and reception duties
