Location: Scotland

Are you the new customer-focused, solutions-oriented sales professional we are looking for?

At Valmet, we serve our customers keeping in mind our core commitments: safety comes first, close to customers, solutions to your needs and people you can trust.

As our Flow Controls Area Sales Manager for Scotland, you will focus on building and maintaining first-rate relationships with customers, providing high quality valve-related product and service solutions. You will work independently to find ways of satisfying your customers’ needs whether that is through Brownfield & Greenfield projects, one-off service activities, or replacement valves, parts, or ancillary equipment. You will follow through with potential leads, supporting the internal sales hub in their preparation of customer quotations, maintaining up to date information in our Sales systems and work with colleagues to provide the solutions your customers are after. Your sales region is ‘Scotland’ and ideally, you will be based around the central belt, though this is not mandatory. Some UK and overseas travel may be necessary occasionally. You will promote product and service solutions that bring added value to our customers, and you will support our customers throughout implementation.

Your alignment with Valmet’s values of Customer, Renewal, Excellence and People all play a part in how you ‘live the values’ as you deliver on customer expectations.

Requirements:

  • Strong networking skills with experience in sales is essential
  • Ability to work under pressure in different customer situations, applying common sense and sound problem-solving skills to all you do
  • Honesty, integrity, and transparency are also essential personal traits
  • Self-managed and ability to set your own daily and weekly priorities with the customer
  • Experience and competence in using MS Office application as well as Customer Relations Management systems
  • Passion for serving customers and for collaborating with your colleagues
  • Appetite for applying world-class technology to our customers' benefit
  • Knowledge of our customers’ processes and/or process technology are considered as an advantage
  • Fluent in English and a strong communicator
  • A valid driving licence and willingness to travel

We offer you a rewarding position within a global industry leader and an opportunity to help our customers succeed. You will be part of a skilled team of sales, projects and service delivery people that values your contribution and is willing to support your desire for learning. Our competitive compensation and benefits package include attractive bonus scheme, pension scheme, Company car or allowance and other benefits. While our offices are in Seaham and Basingstoke, this position is a remote home office in Scotland. At Valmet, you will be working in a leading global company of 19,000 professionals with good opportunities for professional development.
