Assistant Vice President / Vice President, ESG Reporting

We were an early entrant among institutional investors in real estate including traditional private real estate (brick-and-mortar assets), public equities, real estate investment trusts, and real estate-related debt instruments.
ESG is integral to GIC’s mandate. Our goal is to continually integrate sustainability issues into the way we deliver our mandate. As GIC expands sustainability integration efforts across the board, we are looking for a London-based professional to support sustainability efforts within our Real Estate department. The successful candidate will play a vital role in integrating sustainability factors into investment processes, asset management of real assets, and reporting & analytics.
Responsibilities
Oversee ESG data collection from GIC’s portfolio of Real Estate assets including producing templates for data required and collaborating with external partners to acquire the necessary data
Design, develop and operationalize ESG dashboards, metrics, and processes supporting the evaluation as well as ongoing monitoring of ESG considerations in Real Estate investments
Lead the ESG data validation exercise and develop a data-driven action plan
Manage the integration of ESG reporting in deal sourcing
Work with managers and partners on ESG related asset improvement plans
Lead and drive projects to support the Real Estate division with ESG framework implementation, including workflows enhancement, data management, analytics, and tools
Collaborate with the Asset Management team to track emerging ESG trends and regulations/standards and their potential impact on assets
Engage with benchmarking agencies to stay abreast of market developments, peer benchmarking and research.
Requirements
Prior relevant experience including experience within the ESG space is required.
Previous exposure in data management or reporting and analytics is essential and ideally gained within an investing, consulting or operating environment.
Degree-educated or equivalent practical experience.
Solid understanding of Real Estate as an asset class.
A team player with ability to forge strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders across regions.
Familiarity with ESG regulations and trends.
An analytical mind and meticulous attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Good knowledge of data visualization and analysis tools such as Tableau is advantageous
