Purpose of the Role
Are you driven by delivering cutting-edge solutions in a dynamic environment?
This remote-based role of IT Infrastructure (Agile) Technical Delivery Manager involves initiating, defining, documenting, managing risks, and successfully completing Technical/IT projects. You'll ensure project control, change management, risk handling, testing, and service acceptance, all while minimizing business impact.
You'll align with our Software Application Delivery platform, collaborating with Application Delivery, Infrastructure, Digital, Business, and Operations teams to manage infrastructure to enable our application delivery in a dynamic environment, ensuring projects meet time, cost, and quality standards.
Experience in Agile and Waterfall project management is required, as you will lead our transition to Agile practices. Agile Project Management certification is preferred.
What you will do
This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Collaborating with your Line Manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on delivering the following outcomes and more:
- Assume overall ownership of the technical project management workstream, budget, and scope, taking accountability for delivering the required business outcomes and benefits within the specified time, cost, and quality parameters.
- Collaborate closely with the Application Delivery team to ensure outputs align with stakeholder expectations, adhering to Agile methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) controls.
- Ensure end-to-end IT delivery from acceptance of the request through to live deployment, ensuring all exit criteria are met before closing the project.
- Ensure the project supports key business objectives and is aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Control the project scope, managing all risks and changes effectively.
- Establish and maintain effective project governance to facilitate decision-making, identify and remove obstacles to progress, and resolve any conflicting stakeholder issues, supported by comprehensive reporting.
- Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies across the workstreams, devising mitigating actions as required.
- Direct senior stakeholder communications and change management activities to ensure changes are embedded within the organization, driving benefit realization in line with the business case.
- Manage the delivery and relationships with internal functions and third-party suppliers, in conjunction with the 3rd party management team.
- Lead, coach, and motivate the project team across business functions to deliver successful project outcomes.
- Adopt an agile mindset to ensure continued delivery.
- Conduct structured quality assurance and health check reviews of projects as required.
- Ensure robust documentation of technical requirements, solutions, and project progress.
- Facilitate seamless collaboration between development, operations, and quality assurance teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
- Champion the adoption of new technologies and tools to enhance project delivery and organizational capabilities.
- Lead technical troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts, providing guidance and support to the team as needed.
- Compile reports and provide continuous feedback as required to stakeholders to ensure that risks, costs, dependencies and delivery issues are communicated and managed adequately with stakeholders.
Who we are looking for
This is an opportunity for an experienced, successful Project Manager who has successfully delivered on infrastructure and application projects previously:
- Experience managing and delivering IT project integration using both waterfall and agile methodologies.
- Proven experience in governance, prioritisation, project management, and assurance.
- Experience working within IT control frameworks e.g. COBIT, ITIL, and other methodologies / standards; examples: CMMI, PRINCE program and project management etc.
- Clear understanding of technologies to be able to challenge technical teams and vendors.
- Strong background in working with 3rd party on-shore and off-shore service providers.
- Understanding of IT Infrastructure and Operating Systems.
- Understanding of Azure tools such as DevOps and Azure IT Infrastructure.
- Resilience to excel under pressure and implement lessons learned.
You will need to be a focused, proactive, organised individual with a growth mindset who can articulate clearly and adapt their communication style according to their audience. You will be a motivational leader, solution orientated, encouraging innovation, strong analytical and reporting skills who can work flexibly to meet business needs and excel under pressure to meet changing priorities.
