An exciting opportunity has arisen to support the further development of our Dementia Care services as we look to support those people living in our homes and with a dementia. At MMCG we are committed to continuously look to enhance the lifestyle of our residents, whilst ensuring that our teams are supported to enable them to deliver truly person-centred care.
Therefore, we have introduced this role to support and upskill home teams to deliver exceptional care to those living with us. This is a varied role, which will involve working directly with residents to meet both their physical and emotional needs; building relationships and finding those commonalities which can enhance the residents’ experience; working alongside your colleagues to role model best practice, providing information, advice, and guidance where required.
You will report directly into your Home Manager, supported by our MMCG Dementia Development Lead, plus a wider network of Dementia Ambassadors across the organisation.
Your experience of working to support people living with dementia is essential. You will need an understanding of the changes that dementia can have both on a person’s abilities and needs; how to find strategies to best support them; and to then support the team with making the relevant changes to care planning.
You will need strong communication, coaching and interpersonal skills and feel confident with supporting the team, delivering training workshops and demonstrating how to put newfound knowledge and skills into practice.
A level 3 vocational qualification in Health and Social Care is preferred.
