About Us:

Based in Bromborough, Teledyne CML Composites is a fast growing manufacturer, supplying carbon/glass fibre composite parts and assemblies to some of the world's leading aircraft and aero engine producers. Operating across various distinct product groups including commercial and business jet products, this role is an opportunity to join a team putting the finishing touches to our highly technical products.

The manufacturing facility houses some of the most advanced machining technology in Europe such as a multi axis NDT robotic machine, automated material cutting machine and multi axis CNC machining centres. Job Summary:
To ensure the health and safety of employees, manage and maintain the facility and to initiate, monitor and manage environmental initiatives at the site.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure compliance with current Health & Safety and Environmental legislation (LOLER, PUWER, PSSR, COSHH)
  2. Maintain the Health and Safety and Environmental Policies and compliance with 45001 OHS
  3. Participate in Teledyne EHS team calls, projects and report required metrics.
  4. Conduct Risk Assessments (incl COSHH, Machinery, Etc)
  5. Lead Regular H&S, Environmental committee meetings, provide minutes and actions and ensure these are completed in a timely fashion.
  6. Ensure that Fire Officers/Marshalls and First Aider training is kept up-to-date.
  7. Ensure that Site signage is up-to-date and to current regulations.
  8. Carry out regular procedural tests (eg spill tests, fire drills, disaster recovery checks)
  9. Manage day-to-day Health & Safety issues, provisions and PPE for the facility
  10. Minimise costs of recycling and waste disposal. Report improvements on a monthly basis.
  11. Identify, propose and implement sustainability improvements for site.
  12. Assist with internal audits and manage internal audit schedules, ensuring findings arising from these audits are closed out in a timely manner.
  13. Support the Quality Manager with all external accreditation and customer Audits.
  14. Manage subcontractors whilst on site and relevant documentation, qualification and safe work assessments
  15. Ensure contractors are advised of potential hazards when entering the sites, the contractor/s is supervised when on site and that the works are inspected on completion and signed off.
  16. Implement Permits to Work where applicable (i.e. Working at Height, Hot work & other high risk work).
  17. Organise all electrical testing, including PAT testing and certificates.
  18. In compliance with the statutory requirement to undertake thorough Inspections where applicable ensure all, pressure vessels and pipe work, lifting equipment, extraction; machine safety and water condition (legionella) periodic inspections are carried out.
  19. Ensure all fire alarms, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting systems and vents are tested and recorded.
  20. Facilitate all site inspection visits (incl TM44 and ESOS)
  21. Support with maintaining facility management policies including visitor management & Trade Compliance requirements
  22. Support with security and access control
  23. Support space planning, office moves and procurement of furniture

Job Qualifications:
  1. Good knowledge of COSHH and standard Risk Assessments processes
  2. IOSH or NEBOSH (preferred) qualified
  3. Internal audit trained
  4. Good understanding of ISO: 9001/14001/18001 management systems
  5. Significant experience working in health & safety within an office and Research and development environment.
  6. Strong verbal and written communication skills
