Senior Manager - Non-Life Actuarial - Retail Reserving, Bristol or London

We are looking for someone with deep retail reserving knowledge to join the team (in either Bristol or London).
Our UK actuarial practice is a large team with a strong and exciting growth trajectory.

Your key responsibilities
- Lead teams to manage complex projects and provide insights to clients.
- Present to clients at senior executive and board levels.
- Lead the development of meaningful propositions for clients.
- Assist in responding to varied client proposals.
- Develop strong relationships with peers across teams and clients.
- Create a positive learning culture through effective supervising and mentoring.
Skills and attributes for success
- Deep knowledge of the UK retail sector.
- Strong client management skills.
- Identifies risks and involves appropriate Directors/Partners in resolution.
- Dedication and collaboration within our collegiate team.
- Development of intellectual property to support client interaction.
- Understanding of the current market and regulatory environment.
- Effectively supervising and mentoring staff.
To qualify for the role you must have
- Significant actuarial experience in leading-edge UK retail insurance.
- Strong academic record including a degree and professional actuarial qualifications.
- Deep experience covering at least two of the following areas:
- Reserve reviews under different accounting bases.
- Actuarial analysis to support audits.
- Reserving process improvement.
- Development or review of Solvency II technical provisions.
- Reserve risk or premium risk assessment.
- The business planning process.
- The review of Solvency II internal models.
- A track record of managing actuarial projects and team members.
- Be an effective communicator with client management skills.
- Be commercially savvy and able to engage in discussions on future market trends.
- Be a problem solver; tailoring experiences to different client problems.
