Job description

Are you passionate about weddings and looking for a flexible, rewarding career where you can work from home? Join our team as a Wedding Planner, specialising in beautiful weddings across Scotland. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with an enthusiasm for event planning, customer service, and a genuine interest in promoting Scotland as a premier wedding destination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Enquiries & Consultation: Responding to client inquiries via email and phone, scheduling consultation calls, and offering tailored wedding packages.
  • Supplier Coordination: Booking suppliers, managing contracts, and liaising with venues, photographers, florists, musicians, and other key vendors.
  • Wedding Planning: Preparing detailed event timelines, overseeing logistics, and ensuring the couple’s vision is brought to life.
  • On-the-day Coordination: Occasionally providing on-site coordination during the wedding day to ensure everything runs smoothly (typically 4-10 hours).
  • Post-Wedding Tasks: Following up with the couple for feedback, collecting photos/videos, requesting reviews, and submitting weddings to blogs for publication.
  • Based in Scotland with fluency in English (additional knowledge of Scottish dialects/languages is a plus).
  • Car & Full Driving License: Willing to travel across Scotland for event coordination, often to remote venues.
  • Flexible Schedule: Ability to take client calls during evenings and weekends, especially for couples from the USA and Canada.
  • Customer-Focused: Strong communication skills and a passion for delivering exceptional service to clients.
  • Remote Work Experience: Previous freelance or remote work experience is beneficial for managing your own schedule, tasks, and workload.
  • Experience in the wedding, tourism, or hospitality industries.
  • Experience in a sales environment (non-retail).
  • A genuine interest in weddings and customer service.
  • Ability to promote Scotland as a wedding destination, including researching venues and suppliers.

Additional Responsibilities (Optional):

  • Venue Research & Visits: Inspect new wedding venues across Scotland.
  • Content Creation: Assist in generating ideas or content for our website and marketing efforts.
  • Feedback & Process Improvement: Provide valuable feedback on your experience to help improve our services and systems.
  • Commission-Based Pay: You will earn a percentage of the overall profit from each wedding.
  • Fixed Fee for On-the-Day Coordination: For wedding day coordination services (additional pay for this role).
  • Bonuses: Cash bonuses for positive client reviews, blog features, and promoting our services.
  • Flexibility: No fixed working hours – you manage your own schedule as long as client needs are met.

Earnings Potential:

Depending on your dedication, skills, and workload, average annual earnings range from approximately £20K for part-time to over £45K for full-time wedding planners. This is before tax and excluding travel expenses for event coordination. You will be engaged as an independent contractor (self-employed) and will be responsible for invoicing your earnings on a monthly basis. As such, you will be responsible for managing your own tax obligations.

If you have a passion for weddings and are looking for a flexible role with a supportive team, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today to join our team and help couples create the wedding of their dreams in Scotland!
