WATER QUALITY MANAGER
NHS CROSS SITE AT STAMFORD AND RUTLAND HOSPITAL
Temp Contract 12 Weeks
Monday to Friday
Hourly Rate £16.97p/h


The key requirements of the role will be to implement, manage, and oversee a range of operational systems related primarily to water systems across the above sites.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure estates operational compliance with appropriate standards (PAM, CQC, Legislation, HSE advice, HTM's, ACOPs) and Trust Water Safety Group & Sub Group directives.
  2. Act as the 'Responsible Person' in line with HTM's for water systems and ensure Authorising Engineers audits reviews and advice are acted upon.
  3. Monitor remedial work requirements from reports and ensure timely completion; collate estates operational backlog schedules.
  4. Monitor compliance with regard to water systems using dedicated software systems and expedite requirements to fulfill.
  5. Ascertain compliance for water safety against agreed KPI's and produce/present periodic reports with recommendations to address gaps.
  6. Audit, manage, and maintain compliance with the Trust's Water Safety Plan.
  7. Manage key Water Safety related Contractors and review their performance regularly.
  8. Monitor actions of in-house team regarding water safety compliance and PPM programmes.
  9. Manage, review, and maintain actions related to Water Risk Assessments, sampling programs, and water system PPM activities logged on Compass software.
  10. Ensure all water safety records are adequate and acted on as required.
  11. Facilitate and assist with Authorising Engineer (AE) audits and create/deliver action plans as necessary.
  12. Lead in ensuring all water safety samples are monitored, recorded, and acted upon in accordance with Water Safety Plans and Legislation.
  13. Ensure successful water control measures and analyze results to establish reactive maintenance needs.
  14. Provide specialist advice on water safety solutions and lead on Water Safety Group approvals where applicable.
  15. Monitor records to ensure all assessments and routine periodic inspections are undertaken.
  16. Monitor PPM reports from FM software and Compass system to assure compliance and expedite non-compliant exceptions.
  17. Ensure monitoring systems are in place to track compliance against statutory, national, regional, and Trust requirements, highlighting concerns and ensuring regular reporting.
  18. Manage the 'minimisation and control of legionella and other water borne diseases' as responsible person and manage Water Distribution systems.
  19. Monitor temperatures of domestic hot and cold water supplies and all activities required by legislation and HTMs.
  20. Lead on establishing an agreed PPM schedule for all water systems.
  21. Assist Compliance Manager with the collation and reporting of ERIC/PAM data requirements in required formats.
  22. Lead on expediting water policy and SOP requirements, updates, and renewals to maintain compliance, including reviewing and updating policies/SOPs.
  23. Manage subcontractors for maintenance of designated systems and support existing team members.
  24. Liaise with members of the Estates Team to coordinate work completion and assist in managing Estates direct labour group, external contractors, and professionals as required.
  25. Establish and maintain contacts within the hospital, with contractors, suppliers, and statutory bodies to provide high standards of estate care.
  26. Manage maintenance subcontractors to monitor PPM completion and provide technical support to the maintenance department.
