Job description

The role: You’ll play a pivotal role in the post-production process, ensuring the quality and impact of social video for Bauer’s Music and Lifestyle brands, including Absolute Radio, Magic Radio, Greatest Hits Radio, Planet Rock, Kerrang, and Jazz FM. You’ll manage video footage, audio, sound effects, graphics, and special effects to create high-quality, engaging content for social platforms, and deliver content that resonates with the target audience and adheres to brand guidelines. The role involves taking briefs, collaborating with stakeholders, adhering to deadlines, and ensuring editorial excellence. Additionally, you’ll work with your Head of video to improve workflows, leverage new editing technologies, ensuring efficiency and creativity in every project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing video footage, audio, sound effects, graphics and special effects to produce high quality entertaining and engaging long and short form video for Bauer’s social platforms with a focus on our Music and Lifestyle brands.
• Assemble recorded footage into final edit that tells a cohesive engaging story, matches director’s vision and cuts through on socials.
• Follow best practice and understand house style whilst delivering content to deadline. Ensure content is accurate, brand relevant, engaging to the target audience and of a high editorial standard.
• Take a brief to grasp production team’s needs and specifications.
• Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to input music, dialogues, graphics and effects.
• Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency.
• Creating sizzle reels for our brands and clients, managing postproduction workflow.

Knowledge and Experience:

• 3 years + working full time as a Video Editor with solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages with a focus on the entire Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong understanding of audio editing, sound design, and mixing.
• Expertise in integrating graphics, motion design, and special effects.
• Experience with Photoshop and a knowledge of graphic design for editing and creating video thumbnails.
• Knowledge of video formats, codecs, and file management.
• Familiarity with colour grading and correction techniques.
• Experience with editing content tailored for social media platforms (e.g., TikTok, Instagram, YouTube).
• Awareness of industry trends and best practices in video production.
• Understanding of audience engagement strategies, especially for social platforms.
• A good knowledge of pop culture, especially around mainstream music (past and present) as well as film.
