About the Role

Security Architecture sits within the Technical Security department and plays a vital role delivering new capability as well as providing guidance to the rest of the business with the goal to improve PlatformX's security maturity.

You will work directly with our existing security architects with support from the wider PlatformX security function covering penetration testing, risk and operations.

The team implements new controls, creates technical security standards and blueprints, assists in the scoping of penetration testing activities and are the technical security SMEs for relevant security technologies.

What you will be working on:

1. Overall responsibility for the security road-map.
2. Deliver security standards that support our security policies and business needs.
3. Ensure our infrastructure(s) (new and retrospectively) complies to security standards.
4. In-depth technical SME for all NIST cyber security domains.
5. In-depth technical knowledge of security protection tools (WAF, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, etc.).
6. Process owner to ensure all new solutions and changes to existing solutions have Security approval.
7. Provide technical governance on key strategic projects.
8. Reporting to the Head of Technical Security on projects and directorates.
9. Support proof of concept & lab tests.
10. Requirements gathering from within the business.
11. Ability to write strategy & white paper documentation to define security vision.
12. Attending technical standards and regulatory workshops.
13. Represent the business and be a technical point of contact to UK authorities.
14. Provide consultation services during security incidents.
15. Providing technical guidance in relation to cyber security and help drive cyber security initiatives.
16. Review and research industry best practices & security technologies.
17. Lead the business security strategy and influence cost optimisation.

What will make you successful in your role?

1. Honors Degree in STEM subject.
2. Chartered Engineer, or similar IT qualification.
3. Background in Telecoms.
4. Proven experience within technical security roles.
5. Highly effective communicator.
6. Strong technical background in applications, infrastructure and/or networks.
7. Understanding of cyber security threats and emerging technologies.
8. Strong understanding of both on-premises and cloud-based technologies.
