Job description

A vacancy exists for an Information Governance Officer to work within the Corporate Information Governance Team. The post will play a key role within the team to ensure the Council's compliance with the required standards for information governance, including relevant legislation and policy.


Technical knowledge and previous experience of work relating to Freedom of Information, Data Protection, Records Management, data security, and information governance practices, along with the ability to interpret legislation are desirable. We provide full technical and legislation compliance training by our own 'in-house case handling advance practitioners' to the successful candidate.


It is essential that the applicant can demonstrate competence in all aspects of communications, possess good data analytical skills, have a strong customer focus, and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Team working skills are also essential for this role.
