Head of RE - Lambeth

A high-performing and modern Secondary School, based in the Borough of Lambeth is seeking a driven Head of RE to join their team on a permanent basis from September 2025.

Within the fantastic RE department, made up of experienced RE Teachers and ECTs, their focus is to impart students with a knowledge that goes beyond the classroom. They are encouraged to become informed and compassionate individuals with a broad range of knowledge that interlinks with every other subject.

The Head Teacher is seeking a motivated and passionate Head of RE to hit the ground running and uphold the school's ethos and values, centred around empathy, high expectations for students, and exceptional support. Through specialised support and a pupil-focused learning environment, students excel, with the 2024 cohort of GCSE students achieving fantastic marks across the board.

They are seeking an exceptional Head of RE to uphold these standards to improve the RE curriculum, support other members of the department and positively impact the academic performance of students across KS3-5.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Head of RE
• Inspiring the younger generation across KS3-5 alongside a team of strong RE Teachers and ECTs
• Analysing and rewriting the RE curriculum with the intent of improving student performance
• Full-Time, Permanent role - September 2025 start
• MPS3 - UPS3 + TLRs (amount dependent on experience)
• Based in the Borough of Lambeth

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Must hold UK QTS or be in the process of obtaining
• Must be meeting the 8 Teaching Standards ('Good' or 'Outstanding')
• Strong academic across the board including Degree, A-Levels and GCSEs (or equivalent)
• A desire to make a positive difference to the academic and personal profile of students
• Must be willing to listen to feedback and access CPD opportunities
