Criminology Graduates

Are you passionate about supporting ex-offenders in rebuilding their lives and reintegrating into society?

We’re looking for a Family Support and Wellbeing Mentor to help ex-offenders develop and maintain positive relationships and help prevent reoffending.

You will be working for a leading criminal justice charity focused on rehabilitation and reintegration.

Please note: start date for this role is by May/Jun 2025 (subject to DBS and prison vetting clearance).

This is a 1 year maternity cover, part time for 15 hours weekly (9AM to 5PM), with a salary of £10,710 per annum. You must be a driver as this role will involve outreach work covering: South Shields, Gateshead, and Sunderland.

What you’ll do:

1. Provide 1-to-1 and group interventions for ex-offenders and their families.
2. Help service users develop healthy relationships, manage conflict, and improve communication.
3. Support positive reintegration into society through structured wellbeing programmes.
4. Work closely with probation services and partner agencies.
5. Manage a caseload of up to 10 individuals, with tailored support ranging from action plans to multi-agency work.

1. Experience in criminal justice, employment support, or supported housing is ideal, but we also encourage applications from other sectors such as recruitment, healthcare, sales, etc. Criminology Graduates are also encouraged to apply!
2. Open-minded, non-judgmental, and committed to criminal justice rehabilitation.
3. Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
4. Ability to work independently while being part of a supportive team.
