JOB TITLE: Sociology/Psychology Teacher

ABOUT THE SCHOOL:

Prospero Teaching is looking for a Sociology & Psychology Teacher for an Ofsted Good Secondary school in Tower Hamlets, East London. The school is a medium-sized mainstream Secondary School with a supportive department. The school is going from strength to strength and providing CPD throughout the year. The school does have a 6th form, although most of the timetable for this role will be key stage 3 and key stage 4. The position is open to both NQTs and experienced teachers. Depending on performance, the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

  2. Position: Sociology & Psychology Teacher
  3. Type of work: KS3/KS4 Class Teacher

  5. Duration / Likely Duration: 1 term until end of academic year
  6. Contract or position end date: April 2025
  7. Contract type: Temporary
  8. Full time/part time: 3 Days a week
  9. Minimum rate of pay: Paid to scale
  10. Hours: 8:30 am - 4pm, plus parents evenings

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. QTS or equivalent
  2. Minimum 1 year Maths teaching experience in the UK
  3. Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  1. Hold Right to Work in the UK
  2. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  3. Provide two professional child-related references that cover the last 2 years
