As our next Offshore General Site Manager you will integrate into, and work as part of, the wider Construction Department to support global offshore wind projects in the late development and construction phases. You will work every day with a diverse team who innovate and set the standards for offshore construction among our peers. You will develop, innovate, optimise and then manage the execution of offshore construction solutions within our projects ensuring we deliver on our promise of a sustainable future.

About the role

As our next General Site Manager, you will manage the Offshore Site Management team to oversee the Projects installation and commissioning activities with the tier 1 contractors. The GSM also supports the Senior Project Manager, the Engineering Manager, the Senior Consents Manager, and the Installation Package Managers to complete the project during the construction phase.

  • Planning, managing and coordinating the Offshore Site Management works in line with company site management plan, site management philosophy, company values, internal compliance policies and regulations, external regulations, the Project Management Framework (PMF), and Delegation of Authority (DOA), while prioritising the interests of the end client (Operations).
  • Ensure all works follow the company’s HSE policies, 8 Life-Saving Rules, essential behavior principles, and comply with local laws like H&S@W 1974 and CDM 2015.
  • HSE emergency response planning and management including medical needs and clinical governance, and focused HSE monitoring.
  • Collaborating closely with the Procurement department to manage the procurement process, from ITT development to contract signing, ensuring the best interests of the project and RWE Offshore are upheld.
  • Managing a matrixed team of experts who provide specialist input for delivering the Offshore Site Management works.
  • Supporting the engineering process within the package, ensuring buildability, operational considerations, interfaces, and safety by design are fully addressed.
  • Building a collaborative, transparent work culture that emphasizes knowledge sharing and lessons learned within the project and across RWE Offshore.
  • Facilitate an environment to enable clear communication lines with internal and external parties.
  • Managing resources and budget within the Offshore Site Management team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, while identifying, mitigating, and addressing risks and opportunities as needed.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Hold a degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering, Marine Logistics, Renewable Energy or another closely related engineering or science area.
  • Have experience directing the safe operation of offshore wind farm projects.
  • Have experience of the contracts used in offshore construction and vessel chartering.
  • Have comprehensive and demonstrable knowledge in HSE aspects of offshore construction and site management; including working in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 [H&S@W 1974] and CDM 2015.
  • A team leader and collaborator comfortable working closely with your colleagues as part of an inspiring multinational global team.
  • A motivated, keen problem solver with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willing, and able, to travel regularly within UK and globally on an ad hoc basis as required to support our projects.
  • Willing, and able, to work offshore and at heights.
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English.
