About The Role
Our wholesale channel has seen impressive growth over the past two years and we are now seeking our first Accounts Receivable Assistant to join the Finance team and have responsibility for managing our AR ledger. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounts receivable processes and thrive in a friendly yet fast-paced and results-driven setting.
This is a part-time role (2 days per week), reporting to our Finance Manager and based out of our office in London (Brixton).
ResponsibilitiesWhat you will be doing:- Ongoing monitoring and review of invoices and credit memos raised to customers, checking for accuracy and ensuring they align with corresponding underlying records.
- Processing of customer payments and debit notes, matching against associated invoices and provisions and ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded on the customer record.
- Ongoing reconciliation of customer accounts and receivable ledgers. Identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Responsible for monitoring outstanding customer balances, taking remedial actions where invoices become overdue and ultimately ensuring all outstanding amounts are collected efficiently and in a professional manner.
- Working with the Finance Manager to manage the calculation of month-end rebate provisions along with the ongoing allocation and reconciliation of associated deductions made by customers.
- Building professional and cordial relationships with customer representatives and proactively handling any billing-related queries on their account.
- Generate and share regular reports on AR aging, outstanding invoices, and cash receipts for management review.
- Enter and maintain accurate financial data into accounting software and systems.
- Work closely with the commercial and customer success teams to resolve any queries on a customer’s account.
RequirementsExperience & Qualities- Proven experience in an accounts receivable or similar financial role, preferably within a retail or manufacturing setting.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and best practices.
- Kind, fun and personable.
- Proactive and curious in nature with a commitment to ethical financial processes and transparency in reporting.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external customers.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
