Building Surveyor (Home-Based)

A leading specialist loss adjusting and surveying consultancy is seeking a Building Surveyor to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced surveyor to work across a diverse range of projects, providing expert advice and technical assessments within the insurance and property sectors. The role is home-based, with regular team meetups.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting building surveys, defect analysis, and condition reports.
  • Assessing property damage and advising on reinstatement works.
  • Providing expert reports for insurance claims and dispute resolution.
  • Managing repair and refurbishment projects, acting as Contract Administrator where required.
  • Working closely with insurers, loss adjusters, property owners, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, health & safety standards, and industry best practices.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented surveyor with:

  • MRICS, AssocRICS, or working towards qualification.
  • Strong experience in building pathology, defect diagnosis, and construction assessments.
  • Knowledge of insurance-related surveying and loss adjusting (desirable but not essential).
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
