Job Title: Senior Manager, Sales and Revenue Forecasting

Location: Virtual, remote worker location possible

Studio Business Group (SBG) is looking for a Senior Manager, Sales and Revenue Forecasting who will be responsible for delivering sales and revenue forecasts for 1st party games at any stage of their lifecycle – from early concepting to post-launch live operations. This is a newly formed role and team amalgamating responsibilities that until now have been performed by many parts of the organization into one end-to-end team covering all sales and revenue forecasting analysis. You will report to the Director of Sales and Revenue Forecasting and be responsible for delivering credible, robust, and up-to-date forecasts supporting investment decisions, project progress reviews, and short-term and long-term plans. You will collaborate with various teams ensuring the right assumptions and input drive the forecast: strategy and portfolio, market and audience research, player testing, product management, studios and developers, and marketing, to name a few. This role will be at the center of many decision-making processes, and therefore we are looking for a candidate who has sound and solid gaming market understanding, solid judgment, objectivity, and resilience under stakeholder pressures.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for sales and revenue forecasting supporting all processes such as investment decisions, title progress reviews, short-term and long-term business planning.
  • Sales and revenue forecasting for player acquisition as well as post-launch engagement and monetization on PlayStation and other game formats.
  • Monitor performance of sales and revenue across the formats and adjust forecasts accordingly.
  • Work with portfolio management, analytics, data science, developers, and value optimization functions to integrate information into forecasts.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and sales teams to ensure forecasts align with product launch schedules and marketing campaigns.
  • Maintain and evolve robust, fit-for-purpose sales and revenue forecasting methodology that takes into account the impact of multiple factors such as audience size, market risks, and product features.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on forecasting tools, techniques, and trends within the video game industry; continuously improve the forecasting process by adopting new tools and methodologies.
  • Deliver regular forecast updates, performance reports, and presentations to senior management and stakeholders such as developer studios, product management, sales and marketing, and SBG Leadership.
  • Develop reporting dashboards to track key sales metrics and revenue indicators.
  • Ensure that the team stays current with industry best practices and technological advancements in forecasting and sales analytics.
  • The role will likely have line management responsibility for a couple of junior sales and forecasting analysts (exact reporting line structure within the team to be determined later).

Qualifications & Skills:

  • BA/BS in business, strategy, finance, economics or related field; MBA and/or CFA designation preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in roles such as market research, strategy and business intelligence, finance, or product management.
  • Experience in the gaming industry is a strong preference.
  • Strong understanding of sales cycles in the video game industry, including digital and physical sales, DLCs, microtransactions, and subscription models.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and deliver actionable insights.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present to senior management and cross-functional teams.
  • Data-driven approach combined with robust judgment and objectivity.
  • Resilience under pressure, including from senior stakeholders.
  • Self-starter, showing initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Passion and energy for working in the gaming industry.
  • Strong work ethic and confidentiality a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work under time constraints.
