GRINDER – UNIVERSAL CYLINDRICAL
We are recruiting for an experienced Universal Cylindrical Grinder to work for our client who is located in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
THE DUTIES OF A GRINDER:
- Produce high quality precision ground cylindrical parts – worldwide.
- Set up grinding machines / tool changes.
- Work to tight tolerances.
- Inspect own work.
- Read engineering drawings.
- Independently determine, set-up and operate grinding machines.
- Achieve fine tolerances to within +/- 0.005mm on a range of alloys and steels.
- Inspect your own work as first off checks and inspect your colleagues' work.
- Work under pressure, delivering to tight deadlines without compromising on quality standards.
- Perform daily activities within safe working practices.
- Always maintain a safe working environment.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCES & SKILLS:
- Minimum 15 years' experience in precision cylindrical grinding.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Excellent math and problem-solving abilities.
- Work to precision tolerances down to +/- 0.005mm.
- Good manual dexterity.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Attention to detail.
- Operate equipment within company safe working procedures.
THE HOURS:
You will work a day shift - Monday-Thursday 7 am-3.30pm / Friday 7am-2.30pm.
THE PAY:
You will earn an hourly rate of between £15 to £16.50 an hour depending on experience.
