Universal Grinder

GRINDER – UNIVERSAL CYLINDRICAL

We are recruiting for an experienced Universal Cylindrical Grinder to work for our client who is located in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

THE DUTIES OF A GRINDER:

1. Produce high quality precision ground cylindrical parts – worldwide.
2. Set up grinding machines / tool changes.
3. Work to tight tolerances.
4. Inspect own work.
5. Read engineering drawings.
6. Independently determine, set-up and operate grinding machines.
7. Achieve fine tolerances to within +/- 0.005mm on a range of alloys and steels.
8. Inspect your own work as first off checks and inspect your colleagues' work.
9. Work under pressure, delivering to tight deadlines without compromising on quality standards.
10. Perform daily activities within safe working practices.
11. Always maintain a safe working environment.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCES & SKILLS:

1. Minimum 15 years' experience in precision cylindrical grinding.
2. Excellent communication skills.
3. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
4. Excellent math and problem-solving abilities.
5. Work to precision tolerances down to +/- 0.005mm.
6. Good manual dexterity.
7. Ability to work under minimal supervision.
8. Attention to detail.
9. Operate equipment within company safe working procedures.

THE HOURS:

You will work a day shift - Monday-Thursday 7 am-3.30pm / Friday 7am-2.30pm.

THE PAY:

You will earn an hourly rate of between £15 to £16.50 an hour depending on experience.
